Study Finds Chatbots Are Now Twice as Likely to Share Misinformation

  • A new study reports that popular chatbots are sharing misinformation about current topics in 35 percent of tests, doubling the rate from last year. The increase stems from the inclusion of real-time web search tools, which rely on low-quality online sources.
  • Performance varied significantly among models, with Inflection and Perplexity ranking worst and Claude and Gemini performing considerably better. Chatbots are now less likely to deny outright false information, indicating a drop in their ability to counter misinformation.
  • Perplexity, which previously debunked false claims perfectly in 2024, has seen its accuracy plummet, echoing inaccurate information nearly half the time in 2025.
  • Efforts to fact-check are becoming essential for businesses as the automated flow of unreliable information can lead to flawed decision-making and skewed strategies.

Google Pushes AI Privacy Frontier as Gemini Tops App Store

  • Google has launched VaultGemma, a new artificial intelligence model designed to prioritize user privacy. The model is free from detectable user data memorization, making it ideal for sensitive industries such as healthcare and finance.
  • At the same time, the Gemini app, another artificial intelligence-powered tool, has overtaken ChatGPT as the most popular app in the United States App Store.
  • These developments emphasize the growing demand for private artificial intelligence solutions that are also effective, particularly as trust in technology becomes an increasingly vital business consideration.
  • Privacy-focused tools like VaultGemma can enhance customer trust and regulatory compliance, providing businesses with a competitive edge in sensitive sectors.

Harvard’s AI Helps Reverse Disease in Cells

  • Researchers at Harvard have developed an artificial intelligence tool capable of identifying the genetic and drug combinations that can improve health in diseased cells.
  • The breakthrough highlights how artificial intelligence is contributing to advancements in healthcare by enabling precision approaches to treating illness at the cellular level.
  • Using this technology could lead to more efficient development of targeted treatments, potentially alleviating the burden of complicated drug development processes.
  • This tool underscores how artificial intelligence can help healthcare and pharmaceutical businesses cut costs and accelerate breakthroughs in their workflows.
